Dr. Gorenstein has been involved in wound healing and regenerative medicine for over a decade. As clinical director of the Winthrop-University Hospital Wound Healing Center, he currently leads a staff of 17 physicians, nurses, physical assistants and other healthcare professionals, providing advanced wound therapy for patients with complex, chronic wounds on a 24/7 basis. The organizer of Winthrop’s First Annual Wound Healing Symposium, Dr. Gorenstein takes great pride in treating even the most gravely ill chronic wound patients and starting them on a long-term path of healing. He also directs the hyperbaric medicine program at Winthrop, and is board-certified in wound healing and hyperbaric medicine. A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, he earned his medical degree from New York Medical College, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital and a residency in emergency medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Prior to joining Winthrop in 2007, he served as director of the wound center and hyperbaric medicine program at Long Beach (NY) Medical Center
