Pressure Ulcers (Bed Sores)
Pressure ulcers, commonly referred to as bed sores, pose serious and even life-threatening risks to those who suffer from them. They are a major source of infection, suffering and mortality in long-term care facilities. The number of people in the U.S. suffering from pressure ulcers is increasing, particularly among the growing elderly population. This should warrant serious concern among patients, families, and health care providers.
