Non-Healing Surgical Wounds

Most surgical wounds heal steadily over the weeks immediately following a surgical procedure. In some patients however, the wound caused by a surgical incision fails to heal, due to infection, lack of blood flow to the incision site, an underlying medical condition such as diabetes, or some other cause. In these cases, advanced wound healing protocols like the ones used at the Winthrop Wound Healing Center may be required for the wound to heal properly.
